Words for These Times

star-field

I’m dreaming only words
no image
radiant dark
streaming with words
that disappear upon awaking
mist in the morning sun.
Within us
canyons carved by the waters of experience
older than time
deeper than mind
flooded now
gates opened.
What I have learned in this life:
when the day seems dark
turn within
listen.
There is a voice beyond –
beyond thought, feeling, pain, fear and hope.
In the subliminal unworded spaces of night
Spirit speaks.
Remember
in the ancient rythyms
of life, of time, of the spirit, it is arranged so –
that each night, in the dark
we return home
to receive guidance
for the journey of the day,
the bringing of the light.

Order, Balance, Harmony, Flow: words for these times. Words that are needed when things of this world seem disordered, out of balance, out of harmony, polarized and stuck in old pattern. What is the place of SourcePoint in today’s world? This question has arisen often in my mind and heart recently. And the answer is simple. Its principles and practices connect us to that Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow beyond the disturbance of the material world. In every indigenous culture, there is the understanding that connection to that greater Order is essential for the world to survive and for people to live harmoniously with each other and all their relations of the earth. Many of us have lost that connection. Much of the suffering of those on this planet arises from that loss. This is a theme we hear often repeated these days.

Therefore, SourcePoint has much to offer, not by replacing longstanding ways of making that connection, but by helping those who have lost it to find it once again. More and more I understand that SourcePoint is not simply a set of protocols to be learned by therapists to help them in their healing work with others. That’s very important, and we receive a lot of feedback as to how effective it is in that.

But there’s a need in each one of us to connect with the fundamental Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow each day, each moment, over and over, just to stay sane and balanced and centered and strong, to be able to navigate the waters of a chaotic and transforming world, to move in alignment with positive forces of transformation. SourcePoint is at its root a meditative practice. When we do it for others, we enter into meditative states of awareness, getting out of the way, allowing that natural order to manifest and do its work, focusing on the Blueprint, not the illness but the inherent health.

When we practice it for ourselves, through meditating with the Diamond Points, with other of the practices, and/or by simply following the breath with the rhythm and the mantra of “Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow” we personally have the opportunity to enter into the state of meditative awareness, get out of our own way, and allow a natural state of order, harmony and peacefulness to arise within us. Then we are much more prepared to function in today’s world.

Nowhere in the external world are we going to find that peacefulness, except in nature, and even then, if our minds and hearts are disturbed, that energy can’t penetrate. And in no way can we act effectively in a disturbed world when our minds and hearts cannot find their center. There are countless ways to work with one’s mind and heart. In the coming year I would like to work more with people to experience SourcePoint as the valuable resource it is for working with oneself, not just with others. I’ll be focusing on that in my posts on this blog in coming months. We have a meditation retreat scheduled for the fall of 2017.

Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow.

May all beings be happy, peaceful and free of suffering.
