SourcePoint Therapy: Birthing and Becoming
Hiranyagarbha, the cosmic golden egg at the root of the universe.
Once again, in this post, we cycle through the phases of life, recognizing, acknowledging and honoring the process of Birthing, Living, Dying.
And after last month’s exploration of Dying, we return now to explore Birthing. Or we can call it Re-Birthing. Every birth is a re-birth, a continuous Becoming.
We ended before with the Golden Egg, and we begin anew with the Golden Egg, now.
In the Vedic tradition, Hiranyagarbha is the Source of Creation, the creative power that gives birth to the universe, manifesting in many forms as the Creator of the universe, a golden womb floating on the dark waters before time. There are countless mythologies of the Golden Egg. They all tell the story of Creation, with the Golden Egg identified as the Creator, the Manifest, the Soul of the Universe, to name a few. Vedic poets called it The Golden Embryo, The Original Embryo.
However we want to describe it, what words we use, we are talking about the fundamental ordering forces of Creation, powerful energies beyond our rational comprehension, manifesting the miracle of life since before the beginning of time.
One of the most powerful emotions we can feel as humans is awe in the Presence of the eternal mystery of this vast universe from which we manifest, from which we arise, to which we return.
As we explore the meaning of these patterns we work with in SourcePoint, the Diamond, the Golden Egg, the Golden Rectangle, the Crescent Moon, the Stick Figure, they cease to be merely “protocols.” They are experienced as living realities, sentient beings, patterns of consciousness imbued with the vital life force of Source.
And we begin to understand, perhaps, that we are a part of a constant, continuous, state of Becoming, of Birthing, of Life. The cosmic order is not a philosophical concept; it is alive with an inexhaustible energy. We are constantly Re-Birthing our Self.
Awe becomes an everyday experience.
In every single SourcePoint session, whether self-practice or working with another, we are working with those ordering forces of Creation, assisting them in Birthing, and then maintaining Life, nourishing Life.
Perhaps this sounds a little… dramatic?
Birthing, Living, Dying are drama. Intense, beautiful, terrible, fearful, joyous, mysterious, mythological, incomprehensible drama.
Working in this way we come to know our place in a vibrant universe of powerful energies. We understand that the fundamental rhythm of this vast universe is simply arising, staying, subsiding. Birthing, Living, Dying. Continuous Becoming.
So while we say in SourcePoint that we are shifting our awareness from our story to focusing on our fundamental, inherent health, we are not dismissing stories, at all. We are shifting our awareness to the greatest drama of all, the continuous drama of the rising and setting of the sun, the blooming of the flower, the cry of a child at birth, the swelling of the womb, the waxing and waning of the moon, the rhythm of the dance, the music of it all. The very life we are living at this moment is the expression of all that is, the fundamental Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow. Our small stories can be held in that larger view and experienced very differently.
What about the “practical” aspects of how SourcePoint Therapy can assist in pregnancy and childbirth?
First of all, please understand that everything that has been said so far is “practical.” It’s time we let go of this division of “the esoteric” and “the practical.”
Living one’s life in acknowledgement of and alignment with the fundamental Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow of the universal energy is ultimately the most practical thing of all. Our world would be in a very different state of being if we somehow were able to do that. And we can. We just have to realize we can. The division of the spiritual from everyday life has created a huge and dangerous split in our lives. So when I talk about “Birthing” I’m also touching on the vast subject of, how do we Birth a different world, each one of us, every day? More on that next time, maybe.
For now, I will say that that there are stories of births in the container of SourcePoint. Some of them will be shared here, perhaps soon.
Many years ago I sat next to a woman at a workshop who was in her ninth month. I was aware every moment of the energy radiating from her. The Blueprint of Health for the human being was pulsing within her. Those ordering forces of Creation were at work full time. It was awesome, in the deepest meaning of the word.
And we have the opportunity, the means, the awareness to be able to be in touch with that primordial, profound energy of Birthing, of Becoming, every day.
