The Autumn Rose: SourcePoint Therapy® and Aging

the blessing of the autumn rose 2025

Every morning this past autumn i would step outside into the garden for my morning prayers and be astonished at the continuing presence of she that i named Autumn Rose. Every day i  spoke with her, honored her, thanked her for her blessings. As the nights grew colder, one morning I took the first picture above, amazed she was blooming still. The morning came when i  had to tell her that there was a freeze watch that night, and i offered her my gratitude that she continued to bloom. Would she survive the night? Indeed it froze that night  and in the morning there she was, as in the second picture, a little worn, a little fragile and yet so strong and beautiful in the liminal morning light of autumn. You’re still here, i said to her, thank you, thank you for still being here beautifully blooming as winter approaches. Finally our first snow was predicted. That evening i held my hands in the Crescent Moon, embracing her, and said, thank you, thank you for being here exactly at this time, this moment, thank you for guiding me, encouraging me to bloom beautifully in the autumn of my life. The next morning, there she was, liminal, on the threshold of her petals falling away, yet blooming, still blooming.  Still shining in the morning light. And later as the petals dropped to the earth, she left behind the seed of her rebirth, the promise of spring, she whispered in my heart, she would return.

The rhythm of life, the endless cycles of life and death and rebirth, it’s all around us, if we lift our eyes from our phones, our screens, if we pause and feel the rhythm, the universal rhythm, everything is in the continuous process of Transformation. We are born, we grow, we stay for a while, we begin to contract into the single point from which we arose, we die, and then what? What else could it be but rebirth? Why would we be an exception to the endless eternal cycle of life and death we dwell in the midst of?

I don’t say this lightly: what if we could return to experiencing the truth ot this cycle in our own individual being?  In our culture we are taught to fight off old age. Our culture is so removed from the understanding of aging as a natural process to be honored. Of course it’s good to stay healthy, to exercise both brain and body, to do whatever possible to maintain physical health, as we age. But we are encouraged to do that in order to avoid old age, to deflect it. I recently read an article about a woman who was 117 years old and officially at that point the oldest person in the world. And she wasn’t sick. Doctors had been studying her for years. She was getting older but she was free of  the many diseases that often accompany aging. Her “symptoms” were simply signs of old age, one doctor said. She was, inherently, healthy.

And here’s a key point: our culture identifies old age as a disease that can somehow be treated, and that it should be avoided at all costs.   We need to be remembering that aging itself is a natural process and the more we stop being so dismissive of it, so afraid of it, the more Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow we can experience in the process of it.

As I age I’m working with returning to the ancient truth that there is a rhythm I’m attuned to. Older age is challenging, with the body going through dramatic changes, and that’s a wave I have to ride, to accept, to work with, and I can. I have ways to do that, that nourish and sustain my strength and health. I am impelled to work with SourcePoint Therapy every day in a way I have not in the past. I’m impelled to work with Awareness in a way that I have not in the past, with a moment to moment dedication. As the physical body embarks on its dissolution process, I become more and more aware of the body of light, the energetic structures we arise from and return to. How that body of light is a Presence, always accessible, that strengthens me. The awareness of that body of light, the connection to it, the grounding in it enables me to navigate this aging process with a deeper understanding of what’s going on and why and how.

How can I put it in words? This aging process is not about me.

It’s not all about my personal story of aging. The aging I am experiencing is the story of the creative, ever-transforming Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow. It’s about being a part of that, a manifestation of that.   .

Every day I work with the Diamond Points, the Golden Egg, the Midline, the lines and patterns of energy that support us and nourish us. I bring Awareness to the SourcePoint mandala over and over and over again. I feel the strength of the line within me at my very core. I feel the vibration of health humming in those energetic structures.

It’s not possible here, in this brief post, to go into the specifics of exactly what all that involves, what are the actual practices I actually do.  Here on this website there are many practices and meditations. We are easily contacted through the contact form. The SourcePoint book has the basics in it. I do want to share with people how specifically one can work with these energy patterns to strengthen the light body, that is the heart, the nature of, the physical body. They are not two, and as usual we have separated them. This is what SourcePoint Therapy is all about, the reunion.  I’m contemplating now how best to proceed with sharing this specific aspect of SourcePoint: how it supports what we call aging.

We are energy. The physical body is light, is energy. And energy is “physical” in that  it “informs”  form, gives rise to it, shapes it. We are energy embodied. Not bodies that “have” energy or not.

Simply put, the older I get, the more I am aware of the energy I am. It is making itself known to me, informing me, preparing me for the dissolution process that I am embarking on.

We’re aging from the moment we’re born. The earlier we become aware of the universal energy from which we arise and to which we return, and we learn to align with it and work with it, the more we can attune to the universal cycles of birth, life, death and rebirth. That attunement can bring us.. a peace that passes understanding. It really can.
