SourcePoint Therapy, Solstice, and the Seed of the Opposite

Painting/Bob Schrei/© 2021
To begin, a poem, that is not a poem, only simply, a moment of Awareness, from my little book of that name, in honor of the Winter Solstice, that is coming upon us in this northern hemisphere.
i have come
after all
to love
the turning of the wheel
circles within circles
day turns to night
light to dark
dark to light
the seed of the opposite
blossoms
in each breath
the longest night
is
the most radiant light
As the radiant darkness of the changing season grows darker and deeper, as the longest night approaches, we can remember and honor this rhythm at the very foundation of our being, the ground of our existence here on this earth. The spiral of earth and sun, the presence of light subsiding into shadow and emerging, the continuous turning of the seasons.
Attuning ourselves to the rhythm of the breath, we experience this universal rhythm and flow, the arising and subsiding and rising again of inhalation and exhalation, life and death, birth and rebirth.
It’s all there, the information of who we are, of what is, outlined, described, transmitted, felt, waiting for us to recognize. In harmonizing with this universal rhythm, we can experience where we come from, what we return to. Waves rise and fall, seasons change. Our world, and all that dwells there, our universe, our selves, are in a state of continuous becoming, continuous transformation. And it’s up to us to align ourselves with these energies of Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow. We are given the choice to ground ourselves in those energies as we move in this world. We have that choice over, and over and over again.
We dwell in a world of seeming opposites, polarities and separation. And yet, everything is interconnected, contains the seed of its opposite. It’s there in the ancient yin-yang symbol, the point of black in the white, and of white in the black.
In the seasons, with the two solstices, winter and summer, we experience that truth. Even as in the northern hemisphere we experience the longest night, in the southern hemisphere it is the longest day. Spirals and cycles and circles, turning within themselves, emerging, continuing, an endless flow.
Order, Balance, Harmony, Flow. In SourcePoint Therapy we use these words to describe the fundamental nature of health, the energy of health, the Blueprint of health we continuously focus on, connect with, to maintain, nourish and restore our energies.
However, we do not deny or minimize the presence of ill health in our lives or in the world, of disorder, imbalance and disharmony. Life on this earth is a continuous balancing of order and disorder, harmony and disharmony. When we focus on health, on Order, Balance, Harmony and Flow, we are strengthening that aspect of our experience here on this earth, our connection to those fundamental energies, and by connecting, we strengthen our resources, our energies, our awareness, our bodies , our spirit, to respond healthily to disorder, imbalance, and disharmony. To have the strength and spirit necessary to navigate life in this world.
In the darkness of the night, with the moon and the stars, the clouds that pass slowly over, there is the presence of radiant, fundamental health, the vital life force energy that sustains and nourishes us, from which we come, to which we are always connected. In the brightness of the sun there is the presence of radiant health, the vital life force energy that sustains and nourishes. In the rhythm of summer, spring, winter and fall there is that vital life force energy,a continuous presence of emergence, of becoming.
When we become aware of the rhythm of our existence, when we align ourselves consciously with it, through practice, ritual, choosing to focus our Awareness on this fundamental Health we all share, we are supported in moving through this world of disorder and seeming chaos. Perhaps we become more patient, less reactive. As we strengthen the connection to Source, again, it strengthens our capacity to navigate and respond to the forces of disorder we encounter daily, in ourselves and others.
Basic self-practice of SourcePoint Therapy is one way of connecting with and aligning one’s Awareness with the cosmic Order. The Diamond Points, The Midline, The Navel Point, the Golden Rectangle Points and more are all doorways to the reality of that cosmic Order, to the energy of that cosmic Order. To the profound experience of the support that surrounds us. These energetic structures within us and around us support us, carry us forward, when we recognize them and work with them and acknowledge their presence and power.
And from that ground we are in a much stronger position to be of help to others, if that is our concern. SourcePoint offers the possibility of being grounded in health while helping others to be healthy also. It’s self-practice and it’s practice for others. Nourishing the seed of health within oneself enhances one’s ability to nourish it in others. Experiencing that connection with fundamental health in oneself makes it easier to see it, to recognize it, to believe it, in others.
These practices of SourcePoint Therapy are not mine, nor yours, nor theirs, nor anyone’s. They are one ripple in the vast sea of consciousness and energy called Source. The practices are reminders, opening the gates of memory. We are surrounded by reminders, every day, if we open our inner vision and sensing.
It is perhaps time for us human beings to remember and experience that we are not separate from the human being, the intertwining of ancient ancestral lineages that we arise from, the common universal Source from which we all arise. Time to remember we are not separate from the being of the seasons, the night, the day, the light, the dark, ocean, mountain and river, earth, fire, water, sky, cloud, forest, stone, flower, raven, deer, star and moon, all beings, everywhere, the universal rhythm of birth and rebirth, the vastness and specificity of all that is.
On the Solstice Night, take time to acknowledge your very tiny place in this universe, a seed point blossoming for a moment in time and space. A beautiful seed giving birth to a beautiful blossom over and over and over again, supported by universal energies beyond our comprehension.

I discovered today this 8-minute meditation from December 2010 in relation to the Solstice.
It’s my offering for this Solstice.
May all beings be happy, peaceful and free of suffering.
